Fit for Friday today. Starting this post after work rather than right when I start my day seems odd to me now. But here it is!
Workouts:4/7 Two sports practices out of three, did Sunday and Wednesday. I skipped Thursday because I was so tired and cranky. We're only required to do two a week, but I try to go for three. Not sure if I can handle it with working and having to be up early. I went to bed at 12:30 AM on Wed, and had to be up at 5:30 AM... that is not sustainable. Did calisthenics on Monday. HIIT workout on Tuesday.
Eating: 4/7 I ate under my goal for three days, and under maintenance the rest of the days. I feel I did pretty well!

Weight: Down 1.2 lbs! 😊 (I'm actually down 2.2 lbs, but I think some of it was a bit of dehydration, so I didn't want to over-count it.
Stress: 😐 I am still a little stressed, but managing better than last week. I need to make choices to keep myself calm, and sleep plays huge into how I feel and how I'm able to handle things.
Decluttering: Nooooooooope. And The house needs some work. Clothes on the bathroom floor, sink FULL of dishes, too.

Sleep: 2/7 I only got two nights with 8 or more hours of sleep. I know I said my initial goal was 7 hours, but I'm finding that I had 4 nights with 7 (and one with 6) (and one with over 10, and another with 8 on the nose), and I still feel exhausted. If I need 8 hours to function well, and I get 7 each night, by the end of the week that is a deficit of 7 hours! So I really need to be aiming for 8. Last night I had an irrational sleep-deprived breakdown. I couldn't take it, I was so mad and so overtired that I couldn't nap, even. So I really have to figure out how to get eight hours. I don't know how people with kids do it; I don't have children, and between my job, and sports, I feel so very tired. I can't imagine having to handle little ones too. I am feeling judged by others for "being tired" when I don't have kids. Its probably in my head though.
I have to work tomorrow, but I go in late so I can sleep in. I don't have to go anywhere tonight, so as soon as Sir gets home we can hang out! I definitely feel like we're just passing in the night the past few weeks. We live together and don't see each other as much with our schedules conflicting.
You guys are doing so well! Keep at it!

Hi Lea,
ReplyDeleteWay to go on your goals, especially feeling so tired and getting back into the work routine. Having read your eating update, this isn't playing into the tiredness as well I wonder? I don't know, just a thought.
Sleep is a huge issue for me too. You seemed to be doing well. Maybe as you get more into routine it will improve.
Hugs
Roz
Thanks, Roz.
DeleteIt's a thought on the eating... not sure what you mean though, that I should be eating more? Or change what I eat?
I hope in the next few weeks I'll feel "normal". Maybe I'm just having a rough adjustment this time around. Last year, I do remember being tired, but I was still drinking coffee back then (I limit caffeine now - black tea if I really must have it).
I changed my goal to 8 hours, and we'll see if that helps (if I can manage to get 8 hours hahah)
Hi Lea, You are doing well. Pity you can't get that extra hours sleep, it would make a lot of difference. Hope everything settles down soon.
ReplyDeleteHugs Lindy xx
Thanks, Lindy. I may try to incorporate more naps, see if that helps. Or maybe it is something else, as others suggested, like a vitamin deficiency or something.
DeleteHey Lea,
ReplyDeleteHave you ever considered that maybe it isn't actually lack of sleep that is making you tired? Perhaps you are low in iron or something? I can empathize with being so tired you can't nap. When I get like that, and I am starting to fall asleep, I become excited that I am finally going to sleep and BOOM! I'm wide awake again. For whatever reason, whenever the clocks spring forward here, my sleep patterns become a mess! I actually wake up an hour earlier- that is BEFORE the spring change. Yup that means 2 hours earlier than normal. Hello 3:50 am! LOL
Good luck figuring out the sleep thing!
willie
Hi Willie,
DeleteI hadn't actually thought of that this time! A few years ago, I had extreme fatigue and when I went to the doctor, I was severely Vitamin D deficient. When I got on a supplement, it was night and day. Maybe I can have them check into it (or make sure I get at least 15 minutes outside!!)
3:50 am... dear Lord! I hope you can get back to normal.
Congratulations on the great work with your FFF plan! Fwiw, I actually had the same thought as Willie, that maybe there's something besides hours of sleep going on to make you tired. But you sure are right about not knowing how parents do it!! Me either! Hoping you get enough rest soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Olivia. Now that you both mention it, I am really thinking about it. Maybe I'll make an appointment with my doctor if it doesn't right itself in the next few weeks. I also thought that perhaps my increased physical activity has something to do with it.
DeleteWay to go Lea. You're very good about tracking everything and that in itself is an accomplishment. Are you using an app? I've been sleeping a lot more since my accident but I don't seem to have anymore energy as a result. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteAmy
Thanks, Amy. Yes, I use apps for nearly everything! For sleeping, I use the Sleep Debt tracker app. I have an Android, but it's probably on apple too. I use an app to log my food and exercise as well. I couldn't keep track of all of it on my own. I find the apps helpful.
DeleteYou probably need more sleep to heal!
how do you get so much exercise in AND still have a job? I can barely manage to squeeze in my 15min walks since i started working in the mornings. i'm always so sleepy
ReplyDeleteHahaha. I feel like I'm not exercising nearly enough. Between sports, exercise, and my job, there is no time for anything else. I haven't blogged as much, my house is a disaster, and Sir and I feel like we don't even see each other. So.... I guess that's how, hahaha.
